Originally called ‘Festitalia’ the event was transferred to Co.As.It. when the Festitalia Association Inc. completed its mission of staging an Italian event in Brisbane in 2006, in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Italian Republic. That inaugural event and the subsequent 2007 edition, attracted a participation of over 60,000 people.
Fieritalia will continue to provide the general community with an annual event that generates passion in all things Italian!
The Italian festival highlights Brisbane as a regional and international city that is fostering strong links with its multicultural community whilst offering worthy lifestyle activities to enrich this vibrant and creative city.
Aimed at Australians from all backgrounds, the festival enhances social and cultural inclusiveness and leaves co-lateral benefits for the wider community in terms of recreational, social, commercial and economic bonuses.
In 2009, as part of Q150 celebrations, Fieritalia will feature a photographic exhibition on Italian migration and will showcase the contributions made by these migrants to our State’s identity in terms of style and design, business and trade, architecture and culture. With great entertainment, traditional Italian food and music, open air markets, pizza making displays, fabulous Italian wines and Italian beer, the event sparkles with vitality and colour. Enjoy the lively atmosphere and share the richness of the Italian culture with us.
